We know from our Lyman Byxbe collection that Hallett’s Peak can be admired from both Dream Lake and Bear Lake—two of Rocky Mountain National Park’s most iconic alpine lakes. Since the back of this painting once had a label (now partially removed) that only reveals the word lake, we believe it’s one of these classic views.
The painting itself is in good condition, with no chips or scratches—remarkable for a piece that’s been around for nearly a century! The back also notes that we purchased it in July 2013, adding to its journey through time.
