Old Adobe with Ristras. Willard Page 9217

This 4 x 4 painting by Willard page is in really excellent condition. The colors are not smudged or darkened and I believe it looks much like it did originally. The painting features an an old Adobe that looks abandoned. However, someone made the Ristras hanging from the corral post and on the roof. There must have been an irrigated gardan area out of sight on the left. This cottonwood tree supports this idea. Cottonwoods are really deep rooted and require a lot of water, so this could be near a river or just a low area.  There are mountains in the distance so this painting gives you a feel for life along the Rio Grande.

From the receipt you can tell that we purchased this in July 2013. it’s a nice picture, especially since we lived in New Mexico for a long time. It really does bring back memories of life in that part of the world.
